Our goal is to:

Recruit a large pool of qualified and nurturing Resource Families to meet the children’s needs;

Place with relatives and near-kin and support efforts to maintain family connections;

Reunification

[ree-yoo-nuh-fi-key-shuhn]

is the process of returning a child in foster care to their parent or guardian when appropriate. Monterey County Family and Children’s Services supports families through services like counseling, parenting classes, and substance use treatment. Social workers and the Juvenile Dependency Court work together to ensure the home is safe and stable before the child returns.
